University Wrap Up!

September 9th

Men

On September 6th, AUS play began ahead of the hurricane. Obaid Hedayat had a goal when Dalhousie with Ahmed Abokar, Jacob Bolton and Arjun Sethi beat Moncton 3-2. Alec Napier made his rookie debut with UNB in their narrow 2-1 loss to CBU. Blake Fenton had a goal in St FX’s 2-0 shut out of UPEI.

 

On September 7th, Alex Black, and Cian Tousignant O’Siadhail each had a goal in SMU’s 4-3 victory over MUN. Alex had another goal on September 8th when SMU shut out MUN 3-0. Also on September 8th, UNB beat X 4-1.

 

Women

In NCAA play on September 2nd, captain Hannah Bruce led UVU to a 2-1 victory over Cal State.  On September 5th, Karah Fleet and UMass Lowell were shut out 1-0 by Providence. UVU lost 1-0 to San Jose State on September 6th and lost 5-0 to Santa Clara on September 8th.

 

City women were busy on September 6th as AUS play got underway. Josie Oikle had a brace, while Zoe Brown and Riley Donovan each had one when Dalhousie, with Haley Glazebrook, Sydney Kenney and Brenna Kettlewell, shut out Moncton 4-0. Larissa White led St FX to a 2-0 shut out against UPEI. Hailey Stack and Mount A lost 4-0 to Acadia.

 

On September 7th, head coach Marisa Colzie, with Danielle Cyr and Paige Vincent coached Tanaka Akiyama, Julia Dorey, Kyanna Gilks, Megan Goodwin, Joanna Gorski, Itai Kuwodza, Hannah Lawrence, Janie Marchard-Lemire, Fiorella Morales, Alexa Tymkiw and SMU in a 6-0 loss to MUN.

 

On September 8th, SMU fell 5-1 to MUN, X beat UNB 1-0, and MtA lost 2-0 to Moncton.

 

In the OUA on September 4th, Katherine Bearne and uOttawa followed their 2018 National Championship banner raising celebration event with a 3-1 victory over Carleton. On September 7th, Sophia Kienast and Queens beat Ryerson 2-0 while uOttawa tied U of T 1-1. On September 8th, Jane MacDonald and Waterloo tied York 1-1, Queens tied U of T 2-2 and Katherine got the game winner in uOttawa’s 3-0 shut out of Trent.

 

Due to Hurricane Dorian, all ACAA games were postponed this weekend.
